Moulder Street was named after Joseph Moulder, who first occupied the area on the south western side of Orange. He lived at Bloomfield where he erected his home in 1847. Later he acquired considerable lands and in 1851 sold allotments of land which gave Orange some stimulus towards settlement. He was one of the first free settlers at Bathurst.
