John Woodward Mayor of Orange 1870

John Woodward owned the second brick store to be built in Orange, now the Metropolitan Hotel located on the corner of Anson Street and Byng Street. John Woodward had an interest in the Orange Hospital and was also a president of the Orange Mechanics Institute. He was Mayor of Orange in 1870 and died on 4 October 1873. He is buried in the Orange Cemetery.
